Flexi Downlight Covers Fire Rated For 60 Minutes. 

 Austech's range of Flexi Downlight Covers is made from durable fireproof fibreglass, which is ideal for fire protection and flexibility. Flexi's are non-ridged downlight covers, and are designed for hard to reach areas. Flexi's can easily be installed from below through existing downlight holes, without removal or damage to existing plasterboard. Flexi's act like a downlight tent so they can be fitted in areas with no access; such as between floors, in cathedral ceilings and in skillion roofs.

The innovative design means all DLC models are fire rated for 60 minutes to BS476 (vented intumescent cable entry) which is essential for protecting upper levels from the spread of fire.

Downlights can't be placed next to wooden beams, air-conditioning ducting or insulation, but Flexi's are safe-touch enclosures, so they can be placed next to any material and still maintain safe levels of fire protection. This gives much more design choice when placing lighting, which is particularly significant in retail and commercial fit outs where design is everything.

Installing downlights without protection means all other material must be cleared from around the downlight, but when the insulation is removed, this reduces both thermal and acoustic values. With Flexi Downlight Covers you can place insulation right next to the cover, dramatically improving the insulations effectiveness.
